What Age Should You Start RF or HIFU Skin Tightening?

There is no universal age at which everyone should begin RF or HIFU. Two people of the same age can have very different laxity, facial fat, bone structure and skin quality. STC therefore starts with the visible concern and treatment goal, not a birthday.

If the skin remains firm, strong energy treatment simply as prevention may be unnecessary. A younger person with early jawline change or laxity after weight loss may still benefit from a conservative, anatomy-based plan.

What the doctor assesses instead of age

We assess elasticity, fat distribution, jawline definition, the direction of laxity and expectations. Volume loss or muscle activity may require a different approach from an energy device.

Starting early does not mean treating aggressively

Early laxity usually calls for a measured plan, not automatically more shots or higher energy. Overtreatment does not provide stronger prevention and can disturb facial balance.

Can treatment still help later in life

RF and HIFU can improve selected laxity, but they do not replace surgery for marked tissue descent. Expectations should match the current anatomy.

How STC chooses the target layer

Oligio X uses RF heating in the skin, while Ultraformer III delivers focused ultrasound at selected depths. We choose according to the target tissue and areas to protect, rather than age alone.

Frequently asked questions

Can someone in their twenties have HIFU

Yes, when there is a suitable concern. Age alone is not an indication.

Can treatment work after age fifty

It may improve selected laxity, but results depend on skin quality, tissue descent and facial structure.

Is preventive treatment worthwhile

Early planning can be useful, but repeated or aggressive treatment without a defined target is not necessary.

When someone asks whether they are old enough to start, our answer is to assess the face first. A useful consultation identifies what to treat and what should be left alone.
