Can Ultraformer III and Oligio X Be Combined? When Two Treatments Make Sense
It can be tempting to assume that combining HIFU and radiofrequency must deliver a better lift than using one device. However, more technology is not always better. A combined plan should address a specific clinical need.

How do the technologies differ?
Ultraformer III: focused ultrasound
Ultrasound energy is concentrated at selected target depths using device-specific applicators and settings. Tissue heating may stimulate collagen remodeling over time.
Oligio X: monopolar radiofrequency
Monopolar RF heats tissue through a different energy delivery mechanism. In suitable patients, it may improve the appearance of skin firmness and laxity.
When might combining them be appropriate?
A patient may have more than one concern, such as tissue laxity together with reduced skin firmness. A clinician may consider both modalities when each has a clear treatment purpose and the combined protocol is appropriate.
When might one device be enough?
Someone with mild or focused concerns may benefit from one well-chosen treatment, while a hollow face or volume-deficiency problem may call for a different approach entirely. A two-device package should not be considered necessary for all patients.
Can ultrasound and RF be performed on the same day?
There is no universal answer. Manufacturer instructions, prior treatments, treated areas, tissue response and cumulative energy exposure need to be reviewed. A clinician should determine whether treatment on the same day or at separate visits makes sense.
What is STC Clinic's UltraGio X?
UltraGio X combines Ultraformer III and Oligio X in a program offered by STC Clinic. It is an option for selected patients after assessment, not a guarantee of superior results or a replacement for surgical lifting.
What should you ask before choosing a combination?
Ask what each device is intended to improve, whether both are necessary, what side effects are possible, how treatments will be timed, and when improvement should be assessed.
Frequently asked questions
Do two devices guarantee longer-lasting results?
No. Outcome duration varies, and combined treatment is not always better.
Can I have RF immediately after HIFU?
Only after a clinician assesses previous settings, treatment dates, areas, symptoms and device guidance.
Is UltraGio X appropriate for every age group?
Suitability depends on anatomy and treatment goals rather than age alone.
