Can Pico Laser Improve Pores and Uneven Texture? The Handpiece and Mode Matter

Pico laser can improve the appearance of selected enlarged pores and uneven texture, but it requires a fractional optic or mode designed for skin remodelling—not standard Pico toning. Before choosing a programme, ask which handpiece is being used and whether your problem is pigment or skin structure.
STC first separates pores driven by oil and congestion, shallow acne scars, laxity or surface shadow. Pico does not help all of these equally, and no laser permanently closes normal pores [1][2].
Pico toning versus fractional Pico
Pico toning mainly targets pigment and uneven colour. Fractional delivery concentrates energy into microscopic zones to trigger repair and collagen remodelling, making it more relevant to texture and shallow scarring. They may be on the same platform, but the effect and recovery are different.
Which enlarged pores may respond better?
Fractional Pico may refine pores that appear alongside shallow uneven texture. Oil-driven pores still need acne and sebum control; laser alone does not remove that cause.
What result is realistic?
The goal is smoother-looking skin and less visible pores, not pore elimination. Redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, small crusts and PIH can occur depending on the optic and energy.
When is another treatment more direct?
Deep, sharp-edged or tethered scars may need fractional CO₂, Venus Viva MD or scar-specific techniques. Pores stretched by laxity may need an RF or HIFU plan as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Pico toning shrink pores?
Skin may look fresher as colour becomes more even, but toning should not be expected to remodel texture like a fractional optic.
Will one session work?
Some people notice early smoothing after recovery, but collagen takes time and treatment is often assessed as a course. The number depends on the cause and severity.
Can Pico treat every type of acne scar?
No. Selected shallow scars may respond to fractional Pico, while deep or tethered scars usually need additional methods.
Send STC a natural-light close-up before booking Pico for pores. We can identify whether oil, shallow scars, deep scars or laxity is dominant and recommend the appropriate Pico mode or another treatment.
